This work coming from a scientific initiation research, proposes to present the perception of educational actors, teachers and students, about an educational practice with the song Knockin' on Heaven's Door by the famous singer Bob Dylan developed in English language classes in a 1st year high school class, from a multisemiotic perspective. The proposal is based on the use of the Tetragram Multisemiotic Song Analysis device, created and re-elaborated by the GECAN group, Song Studies Group at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, which fundamentally conceives the song as a genre of discourse and highlights the analyzable components: musical, authorial, sociossituational and verbal in its methodology. Therefore, the research presented here is of a qualitative nature, of the action research type, considering the direct role of this researcher in the development of activities in the classroom, using the song as an object of knowledge. The relevance of this work consists in showing an alternative educational practice with song in the classroom. The theoretical support is in Bakhtin (2011), Baltar (2022), Thiolent (1992), among others. The results of this study indicate that despite the challenges, it is possible to promote significant learning with the song from a multisemiotic perspective and with the use of the tetragram as a subsidy for basic education teachers. |
