Due to decentralization processes, the Historic Center of Manaus is characterized as
a disused space, especially in the residential sphere. This work seeks to analyze the
Bolo Confeitado house and adjacent properties on Avenida Joaquim Nabuco, in order
to recover their housing uses, through a proposal that integrates the conservation of
the property with a new form of housing. Historical, social and architectural aspects of
the residences and their surroundings were analyzed, through consultation of
bibliographical references, on-site surveys and interviews with visitors. Observing its
context of insertion, the proposal for student housing seeks to combat the idleness of
the old houses in the Central Area. |
