Breaking dance is currently being widely publicized by the media and digital media after being recognized as an Olympic modality by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), its emergence took place in the outskirts of New York – United States of America; in 1973, created by people of African descent and Latin Americans as part of Hip-Hop Culture. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to analyze students’ perception of the teaching-learning process of Breaking at school in School Physical Education classes through a methodological teaching process. It is characterized as research with a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, applied field research with a focus group. The study participants were thirty-five 9th grade students – class 2 from a public school in the city of Manaus. From the analysis of results, we highlighted two categories: perception of pre-intervention breaking and perception of post-intervention breaking. The study concluded that it is possible to work on the topic of breaking in the Physical Education curricular component. |
