Breaking dance is currently being widely publicized by the media and digital media after being recognized as an Olympic modality by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), its emergence took place in the outskirts of New York – United States of America; in 1973, created by people of African descent and Latin Americans as part of Hip-Hop Culture. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to analyze students’ perception of the teaching-learning process of Breaking at school in School Physical Education classes through a methodological teaching process. It is characterized as research with a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, applied field research with a focus group. The study participants were thirty-five 9th grade students – class 2 from a public school in the city of Manaus. From the analysis of results, we highlighted two categories: perception of pre-intervention breaking and perception of post-intervention breaking. The study concluded that it is possible to work on the topic of breaking in the Physical Education curricular component. A dança Breaking atualmente está sendo amplamente divulgada pelos meios de comunicação e mídias digitais após ser reconhecida como modalidade olímpica pelo Comitê Olímpico Internacional (COI), seu surgimento aconteceu nos bairros de periferia em Nova Iorque – Estados Unidos da América; em 1973, criada por afrodescendentes e latino-americanos fazendo parte da Cultura Hip-Hop. Portanto, o objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar a percepção dos alunos no processo de ensino-aprendizagem do Breaking na escola nas aulas de Educação Física Escolar por meio de um processo metodológico de ensino. Caracteriza-se como pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa com análise descritiva, aplicada uma pesquisa de campo com realização de um grupo focal. Os participantes do estudo foram trinta e cincos alunos do 9° ano – turma 2 de uma escola pública da cidade de Manaus. A partir da análise de resultados destacamos duas categorias: percepção do breaking pré-intervenção e percepção do breaking pós-intervenção. O estudo concluiu que é possível trabalhar a temática breaking no componente curricular Educação Física. 3 O próprio site poderia ter uma parte somente explicando o processo para o autoarquivamento e upload da pesquisa.
