This present undergraduate thesis, titled “Architectural project of an indigenous school in the Parque das Tribos comunity in Manaus”, was produced as part of the Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Amazonas Federal University, in the year 2024. Its theme puts into perspective the fields of architecture and indigenous school education and it aims at elaborating an architectural project for an indigenous school in the Parque das Tribos comunity, in Manaus. From a methodological standpoint, this study is qualitative in nature, supported by technical procedures such as documentary and bibliographic research. As part of the bibliographic research, case studies about indigenous schools located in Brazil were conducted. Also, a field research was carried through interviews with indigenous leaderships residing in the Parque das Tribos comunity, to support the elaboration of the school’s architectural design, and also through direct observation of the research site, with the purpose of knowing the chosen location for the construction of the school and proceding with measurements. The elaborated architectural design is the result of this set of procedures and it’s expected to contribute to studies in the field of schools architecture in different cultural contexts, as well as the promotion of public policies that enable the construction of indigenous schools in Manaus ensuring the consultation of their leaderships, and considering their cultural specificities. |
