This undergraduate thesis sought to understand the perception of young girls who are undergoing socio-educational measures in the Social-Educational Girl’s Internment Center of Manaus (SEGICM) regarding the professional training activities offered. Regarding the specific objectives, we sought to investigate whether the professional qualification activities carried out influence the view that girls have of themselves in relation to self-esteem, as well as whether these activities positively influence the young girls employment prospects. The research methodology is based on a qualitative approach for exploratory field research. To collect information, a questionnaire with open and closed questions was carried out with 4 girls undergoing socio-educational measures at the Socio-Educational Center, as well as a field diary with recorded observations. The results indicate that professional qualification activities still present difficulties in implementation, and although the adolescents, in general, are satisfied, the Center still has limitations in terms of offering courses, whether due to structure or financial reasons, which compromises the selection of activities to be offered, but it is also not concerned with offering activities that are in line with the interests of young women or the demands of the job market. |
