The large amount of discarded tires in our country has motivated proposals for actions that reduce environmental impacts and the execution of research on probable methods of how they can be reused. The objective of this work is to reuse the crushed tire from the rubber residue, inserting it in the mortar paste, partially replacing the fine aggregate for analysis of its properties, to then be classified and how it can be used in construction industry. For this, some tests were carried out, such as the consistency index, water absorption by capillarity, axial compression, in addition to the ultrasound test on reference specimens, with 10%, 20% and 30% residue. In the axial compression test at 28 days of curing, for the 1: 4 line, the mortar without the addition of rubber had resistance, on average, 13.5 MPa and, while with the addition of rubber for each line, the values of 6.24 MPa for 10%, 2.65 MPa for 20% and 0.66 MPa for 30%, with a decrease in strength. Thus, even with the drop in resistance, in relation to a conventional sand and cement mortar, we cannot rule out its use in civil construction, as this is not the only necessary requirement to define the applicability of this mortar with the addition of the residue of rubber. |
