Studies on the occupation and the border areas are the subject of discussion in the academy by economics, geography, politics, involving cross-border relations between different cultures and identities. The Brazil have with your neighboring countries of their borders, cordial relations, legalized by international trade agreements, science and technology. Based on these Brazilian borders, it launched the Development Program tracks Border, covering 588 municipalities. For this work, we chose the analysis of public policy of the national state for the Western Amazon of Free Trade Areas, with the case study Bonfim's Free Trade Areas (BR) and Lethem (GY). From the raised hypothesis that served as a guide for the research, it was inferred that the Brazilian development policy for your border region with the Cooperative Republic of Guyana was characterized by hermeticism, despite the official rhetoric of the federal government signal towards integration south American regional. Thus, the overall objective of the study was aimed to analyze the national model of development border with Guyana, with the revision of the concept of borders in the light of geopolitical and theories of national integration; examine the main training vectors throughout the history of the current territories that make up the border region of Brazil and analyze the Brazilian government's national policy towards the development of Brazil's borders with Guyana. The methodology used is a literature and document review, in addition to the case study of free trade area of Bonfim. Were used as guidelines for the work, the official documents of the Ministry of National Integration, Restructuring Proposal Development Programme Border Strip and Basis for a Proposed Development and Integration of the Frontier Strip.
