This dissertation presents the Free Trade Area of Boa Vista and its correlation with local development. The objective was to analyze the impact of the Free Trade Area of Boa Vista in the local development (Municipality of Boa Vista) from 2008 to 2015. It was revisited schools of thought of the economy, consecrated authors, with the objective of knowing the evolution of economic thought. It was decided to explain the Special Economic Zones from the global to the local context and object of study: the Free Trade Area of Boa Vista. The study showed the historical-geographical conjuncture of Roraima adding more clarity, considering the context and the implications of it. The discussions of the dissertation were intended to discuss the impact of the Free Trade Area of Boa Vista on local development. The general objective of the present study was to answer the question: has the Free Trade Area of Boa Vista presented results that increase economic growth and local development? For that, the analytical descriptive methodology was used, using the bibliographical and documentary revision, and the triangulation of data. Based on these studies, it was verified that: fiscal stimuli are focused on domestic trade within the scope of the Free Trade Area of Boa Vista, thus, it does not present results that efficiently increase local growth and development, which is because the market is small, therefore, without sufficient economic scale. The results achieved are important to support guiding reflections that support more efficient economic policies. |
