The Participants of this survey were seven teachers in training at the State University of Roraima at the nucleus of Bonfim municipality, in the bordering Brazil/ Guyana. Its foundation is guided by authors of Applied Linguistics of the area that, for its hybrid nature approaches from other fields of social and human sciences. So, to answer the goal that this research suggests we rely on the concept of social representations in theoretical perspective of Jodelet (1989) main contributor to the French sociologist Serge Moscovici. This research is qualitative ethnographic, a case study. The generation records was undertaken through participant observation , the construction of the field diary , the sociolinguistic survey , focus group and semi-structured interviews The analysis pointed prestigious representations of the British or American varieties and Guyanese variety seen in the representation of disfavor. Such representations were shown in intrinsic relationship as the way that researched people in their explained future action or as they say exercise their practice. Este estudo tem por objetivo analisar como as representações sobre as variedades da Língua Inglesa em Bonfim influenciam na construção identitária do professor de inglês em formação. Os participantes dessa pesquisa foram sete professores em formação da Universidade Estadual de Roraima no núcleo do município de Bonfim, na fronteira Brasil/Guyana. Tem sua fundamentação guiada por autores da área da Linguística Aplicada que, por sua natureza híbrida aproxima-se de outros campos das ciências sociais e humana. Assim, para responder o objetivo que esta pesquisa propõe nos apoiamos no conceito de Representações Sociais na perspectiva teórica de Jodelet (1989) principal colaboradora do sociólogo francês Serge Moscovici. Esta pesquisa é qualitativa de cunho etnográfico, um estudo de caso. A geração de registros foi empreendida através da observação participante, da construção do diário de campo, do questionário sociolinguístico, do grupo focal e das entrevistas semiestruturadas. As análises apontaram representações prestigiosas sobre as variedades britânica ou americana e a variedade guyanense vista sob a representação de desprestígio. Tais representações mostraram-se em relação intrínseca quanto a forma que os sujeitos pesquisados explicam futuramente atuar ou como já afirmam exercer sua prática pedagógica.
