Physical activity and health have a close relationship for thousands of years was already mentioned in the literature. However it was after the last three decades this association has been studied and proven with greater clarity. The physical activity is considered an important factor in protecting and promoting health, reducing the risk of developing several diseases, mainly those called non-communicable chronic diseases. This is due to its ability to improve the functioning of the body, increasing the efficiency of the various systems of the body, still bringing benefits of psychological, social and cultural order, thus promoting a better quality of life. The development of physical activity programs has been gaining momentum in our country. The main goal of these programs is to increase the physical activity level of the population and their knowledge about the benefits of this practice, and thereby improve health indicators and promoting quality of life. Thereafter, this study aimed to analyze health-related aspects of a community benefit by offering a program of physical activity. The study population comprised by the target audience of this program, and selected a random sample of 145 individuals. The proposed program, verified adherence to it, the level of physical activity, the prevalence of central obesity and associated diseases sedentary lifestyle and self perceived health was analyzed. Moreover, there was also the main reasons concerning the participation or not in the program and analyzed the public's knowledge about the benefits accruing to regular physical activity. It was found that this is a program geared to improving the quality of life of the Federal University of Roraima-UFRR servers, by offering physical activities. However, it was observed that most of the audience does not participate in the program (69%), with 77 % of them engage in other physical activities. Slightly more than half of the sample, 54.7% proved to be physically active, 55.9% had central obesity (RCA > 0.5), 58.6% have or have had an episode of diseases associated with physical inactivity and 64,8% reported perceiving their own health positively. Among those participating in the Program, the main factor of adhesion was the search for better health. On the other hand the lack of time was the most cited reason for not participating. As for the benefits of physical activity, most of the reviews cited the improvement in health as the main change arising with this practice . With this one senses a good relationship with the studied physical activity in general, yet the population program offered, requires some adjustments to stimulate more comprehensively membership activities offered.
