Its effects are harmful to women's health, causing harm to their physical and mental health in addition to causing consequences for the family and the community. Despite all the rights gained, new laws existing Public Policy implemented, women continue to suffer violence. The objective of this research is to characterize the physical domestic violence and family, occurred in adult women, their socio-demographic and relationship to the perpetrator. For this, we outlined a documentary research, a descriptive and exploratory, in 2011, the Legal Medical Institute of Roraima (IML-RR), with analysis of reports of adult women both suffered domestic violence, referred for forensic examination and autopsy, the police stations in every state. Of the 1,111 cases of violence against women and unnatural death found, 811 (73%) reports contained information (a) offender (a). Of these reports, 616 (76%) were committed by offenders with ties of kinship, intimate partners or family arrangements. The domestic violence affects all walks of society, especially women who declared the home (32.6%) and single (59.1%). The vast majority (68.5%) was provided by the Women's Police Stations (DDM) from the capital, Boa Vista. The body parts were atigidas head and neck, described in 388 reports (63.4%), caused by hard-hitting action in 543 cases (88.7%). In 468 (76%) cases were committed by offenders who maintain or maintained affectionate relations with the victim, among these, 271 (44%) were declared as husband / partner, boyfriend or partner. We can conclude that, in our sample, we found a high prevalence of domestic violence (76%), especially by intimate partners. A violência deve ser interpretada, para além dos seus aspectos éticos, morais, culturais e jurídicos, como uma questão e problema de Saúde Pública. É um fenômeno mundial que fere princípios éticos de igualdade. Seus efeitos são danosos à saúde da mulher, ocasionando agravos à sua saúde física e mental além de ocasionar consequências para os familiares e à comunidade. Apesar de todos os direitos conquistados, das novas leis existentes, das Políticas Públicas implantadas, as mulheres continuam sofrendo violência. O objetivo desta pesquisa é caracterizar a violência física doméstica e familiar, ocorrida em mulheres adultas, seus aspectos sócio-demográficos e o grau de parentesco com o agressor. Para isso, foi delineada uma pesquisa documental, de cunho descritivo e exploratório, no ano de 2011, no Instituto Médico Legal de Roraima (IML-RR), com análise dos laudos de mulheres adultas quer sofreram violência doméstica e familiar, encaminhadas para exame pericial e de necropsia, pelas Delegacias de Polícia de todo estado. Dos 1.111 casos de violência contra a mulher e morte não-natural encontrados, 811 (73%) laudos continham informações do(a) agressor(a). Desses laudos, 616 (76%) foram perpetrados por agressores com vínculo de parentesco, parceria íntima ou arranjos familiares. A violência doméstica e familiar atinge todas as esferas da sociedade, com destaque às mulheres que se declararam do lar (32,6%) e as solteiras (59,1%). A grande maioria (68,5%) foi encaminhada pela Delegacia de Defesa da Mulher (DDM) da capital, Boa Vista. As partes do corpo mais atingidas foram cabeça e pescoço, descritas em 388 laudos (63,4%), provocadas por ação contundente em 543 casos (88,7%). Em 468 (76%) dos casos foram praticados por agressores que mantêm ou mantinham relações afetivas com a vítima; dentre esses, 271 (44%) foram declarados como marido/companheiro, namorado ou companheira. Podemos concluir que, na amostra estudada, encontrou-se uma elevada prevalência de violência doméstica (76%), principalmente por parceiros íntimos.
