This research analyzes the perspectives of students and teachers on basic issues of water resources and related environmental education in state schools in Boa Vista - RR. Due to its dependence on water, Boa Vista is strategically located in a region with considerable water supply, which intensifies the relevance of these issues for the local community. Using a qualitative and quantitative approach, the study analyzes the perceptions of students and teachers on environmental issues, teaching methods and the challenges faced in implementing educational practices related to the preservation and sustainable use of these resources. The results reveal students' awareness of the importance of
environmental preservation, contrasting, however, with disparities in the effectiveness of
the educational approaches adopted. The crucial role of teachers in promoting environmental education emerges, although they face obstacles such as the need for continuous professional development and the scarcity of appropriate educational resources. It is recommended that local educational policies be revised to more broadly integrate sustainability principles into school curricula, in addition to providing adequate support to teachers. As a result of this research, an educational booklet was developed for
students, teachers and the community in general, focusing on sustainable practices and raising awareness about the responsible use of water resources. This study is not limited to offering a detailed analysis of environmental educational practices, but also proposes improvements in educational strategies, aiming to foster broader and more effective environmental awareness in the school community of Boa Vista - RR. These initiatives aim not only to strengthen students' theoretical understanding of environmental issues, but also to promote the adoption of sustainable behaviors that contribute to the preservation of local natural resources. It is also suggested that future research investigate the impact of specific educational interventions on modifying students' environmental
behaviors in the long term.
