Hemerodromia Meigen is the most diversity genus within Hemerodromiinae and it has 183 known species distributed around the world, except in Antarctica. In the Neotropical Region, the genus has been neglected with only 10 taxonomics papers in the last century. Hemerodromia species from Neotropical Realm is revised and full descriptions, an identification key and distribution maps are provided. The species described by Bezzi (1909), Collin (1933), Melander (1927, 1948) and Williston (1896) are re-described and allustrated. Thrity one new species are described: H. bezzii sp. nov., H. bolivari sp. nov., H. brevipenis sp. nov., H. carolina sp. nov., H. cercuserrata sp. nov., H. chaetohypandrialis sp. nov., H. colombiana sp. nov. H. curvicaudata sp. nov., H. curvicercata sp. nov., H. distincta sp. nov., H. divisa sp. nov., H. guajajara sp. nov., H. guarani sp. nov., H. guyanensis sp. nov., H. inca sp. nov. H. limeirai sp. nov., H. lineata sp. nov., H. maranhensis sp. npv., H. melanderi sp. nov., H. nanu sp. nov., H. nigra sp. nov., H. nigrithorax sp. nov., H. peruana sp. nov., H. pitaguary sp. nov., H. polleti sp. nov., H. radiobreviata sp. nov., H. recta sp. nov., H. tapeba sp. nov., H. tawantinsuyu sp. nov., H. trilobata sp. nov. and H. wolffae sp. nov.. Hemerodromia subchelata MacDonald is recorded for the first time to Neotropical Region and the genus also is recorded for the first time to Colombia, Ecuador, French Guyana and Venezuela.
