Resumo:
The Payments for Environmental Services (PSA) emerge as an important alternative for forest and biodiversity conservation on the planet, especially in the Amazon. It is an environmental management tool where a buyer purchases a provider, monitoring guarantees and a conservation of a well-defined ecosystem service or changes in land use. The agents involved must understand and act in a way that the proposal of conservation and development be feasible. This study aimed to analyze the expectations of Borba-Amazon-Brazil communities evaluating the benefits and interests of the residents in relation to the public-private partnership established to the Trocano Araretama conservation project. It was used as a methodological approach, the bibliographical and ethnographic research of these locations, applying semi-structured questionnaires and field diary. The presented results show that the activities proposed by the project are part of the primary interests of the inhabitants, however, the actions taken by the implementation team show no relations with the proposals outlined in the project design document.
