Resumo:
The study of techniques the use and traditional handling of the agricultural diversity in Amazonian rural communities acquire a character of extreme importance for the sustainability, that show as alternatives for a new model of appropriate development for the humid tropic. Like this, this research was accomplished the community's residents close to Central Cologne of the Reserva de Desenvolvimento Sustentável Tupé, in the rural area of the Manaus municipality, in the Amazon state. Being the objective, to characterize the System of Production Traditional Agroflorestal (SPTA) and their cultivated plants, as well as diversity, uses and handlings, for ends of conservation in situ of the resources fitogenetics and of the traditional knowledge. To understand as the community are inserted in the process of conservation of the agrobiodiversidade and the local knowledge, the present work begins with a contextualization about production subsystems, flow of genetic material and conservation in situ of the biodiversity of the cultivated resources. The methodological procedure looked for to supply the needs of the residents' participation in the process of construction of the understanding about the agricultural practices accomplished in the study area, as well as the problems of the mechanisms that orientate the life way in relationship the community and the city of Manaus. The search of analysis alternatives of the know traditional and the diversity, that do not reduce, but underestimate the quality of the information was a challenge. The research evidences a cultural domain on their cultivation subsystems and the properties of the cultivated plants among their different use forms. The agrobiodiversity is maintained, in spite of the proximity with a great urban center like Manaus, owed mainly the social relationships of the change among the community's members and family. This analysis contributes to understand the daily of Colônia Central residents characterizing their forces, opportunities, weaknesses and threats, base for the construction of the local development and integrated with the different social actors.
