Like this, this research was accomplished the community's residents close to Central Cologne of the Reserva de Desenvolvimento Sustentável Tupé, in the rural area of the Manaus municipality, in the Amazon state. Being the objective, to characterize the System of Production Traditional Agroflorestal (SPTA) and their cultivated plants, as well as diversity, uses and handlings, for ends of conservation in situ of the resources fitogenetics and of the traditional knowledge. To understand as the community are inserted in the process of conservation of the agrobiodiversidade and the local knowledge, the present work begins with a contextualization about production subsystems, flow of genetic material and conservation in situ of the biodiversity of the cultivated resources. The methodological procedure looked for to supply the needs of the residents' participation in the process of construction of the understanding about the agricultural practices accomplished in the study area, as well as the problems of the mechanisms that orientate the life way in relationship the community and the city of Manaus. The search of analysis alternatives of the know traditional and the diversity, that do not reduce, but underestimate the quality of the information was a challenge. The research evidences a cultural domain on their cultivation subsystems and the properties of the cultivated plants among their different use forms. The agrobiodiversity is maintained, in spite of the proximity with a great urban center like Manaus, owed mainly the social relationships of the change among the community's members and family. This analysis contributes to understand the daily of Colônia Central residents characterizing their forces, opportunities, weaknesses and threats, base for the construction of the local development and integrated with the different social actors. O estudo das técnicas de uso e manejo tradicional da diversidade agrícola em comunidades rurais Amazônicas adquirem um caráter de extrema importância para a sustentabilidade, que se manifestam como alternativas para um novo modelo de desenvolvimento adequado para o trópico úmido. Assim, esta pesquisa foi realizada junto aos moradores da comunidade Colônia Central da Reserva de Desenvolvimento Sustentável Tupé (03º 00 12,1 S e 60º 15 31,2 WGr.), na área rural do município de Manaus, no estado do Amazonas. O objetivo foi caracterizar o Sistema de Produção Agroflorestal Tradicional (SPAT) e suas plantas cultivadas, bem como seus usos e manejos, para fins de conservação in situ dos recursos fitogenéticos e do conhecimento tradicional. O presente trabalho inicia-se com uma contextualização sobre subsistemas de produção, fluxo de material genético e conservação in situ da diversidade dos recursos cultivados, para entender como os comunitários estão inseridos no processo de conservação da agrobiodiversidade e do conhecimento local. O procedimento metodológico buscou suprir as necessidades da participação dos moradores no processo de construção do entendimento sobre as práticas agrícolas realizadas na área de estudo, assim como as problemáticas dos mecanismos que norteiam o modo de vida em relação a comunidade e a cidade de Manaus. A busca de alternativas de análise dos saberes tradicionais e da diversidade que não subestimem a qualidade das informações foi um desafio. A pesquisa evidencia um domínio cultural sobre os seus subsistemas de cultivo e das propriedades das plantas cultivadas entre suas diferentes formas de uso. A agrobiodiversidade é mantida, apesar da proximidade com um grande centro urbano como Manaus, devido principalmente as relações sociais de troca entre os membros da comunidade e entre familiares, mesmo fora da comunidade.
