Resumo:
Along the period of operation of the hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) existing in the Tocantins river basin, some events of icthyofauna mortality were documented. River dwellers watch every day, carcasses of dead animals on the banks of the river. In this sense, this work aims to identify elements that may contribute to the mitigation of fish injuries and death in HPPs, based on an analysis of the conditions in Peixe Angical (PEA), Luís Eduardo Magalhães (LEM) and Estreito (EST). During the research, there was a great deficiency in the detailing of the information on the rescued dead animals, the lack of approaches for the evaluation of the risk of death episodes in cases of maneuvering, and the absence of studies aiming to analyze characteristics of the acoustic contribution of plant equipments in the icthyofauna behavior. For this purpose, a rescue protocol was proposed, a risk assessment and the acoustic landscape resulting from the operation of LEM turbines and spillways was presented.
