From the reflections and conceptualizations on leisure, aging and research on the
current structures for leisure that municipal public power has offered the elderly, this
research aimed to investigate the reality of leisure for the elderly in the city of
Miracema do Tocantins - TO, from documents and bibliographic sources.
Characterized as a Documentary search. At the outset, the selection of scientific
documents (articles, books, theses and dissertations) was developed to construct the
theoretical framework. Finally, a documentary investigation was carried out regarding
the spaces and leisure equipment for the elderly in the municipality of Miracema do
Tocantins. The documents used were provided by the Department of Sports and
Leisure of the municipality, as well as news, images and other information. Thus, the
study approached important investigations about the Leisure of the elderly for this
municipality of the northern region of the country, identifying the spaces and
equipment of leisure that municipal public power makes available to the elderly.
Based on documented information, it was evidenced that the reality of the Leisure for
the Elderly in the city of Miracema do Tocantins needs to be reviewed, planned and
expanded.
