In Brazil, the increase in scientific production aimed at sports and leisure events has gained greater attention, especially after the promulgation of the 1988 Federal Constitution, in which sport and leisure were considered as an individual and social right. However, when directing to universities, as entities responsible for the promotion of policies and the execution of actions in the field of sports and leisure, research related to the theme is still discreet. Based on these propositions, the relationship between sport and leisure and the university environment was the theme and starting point of this work. This study was based on the qualitative approach, since it is concerned with seeking a deeper understanding of a social group, of an organization. In this perspective, the study was directed to propose guidelines to guide UFT's sports and leisure actions, in order to support the construction and consolidation of an institution's sports and leisure policy, and to support this detail. identify how sport and leisure events are covered in IFES documents in the north of the country. To this end, a documentary research was carried out from official documents of the main IFES that are part of this region: UFAC, UFAM, UNIFAP, UFPA, UFRA, UNIR, UFRR. The data revealed that although all universities investigated develop sports and leisure programs and projects, no official document was found to regulate the activities in this area. In view of this, it was concluded that the IFES in the northern region do not have any instrument that is configured as a consolidated sports policy, as it is based on the lack of precision in the notes related to the issue. Regarding UFT, even though it still does not have an adequate physical sports structure in its campuses, it already has a demand in sports and leisure activities that needs to be institutionalized. The final product of this work resulted in the proposal of general guidelines with the purpose of contributing to a better management of the UFT sports sector, aiming at the continuity of sports activities in all university campuses, so that one can think about the consolidation of a policy of sport and leisure for this institution.
