Resumo:
The present study carried out a research about the perception of the Criminal Execution Agents (penitentiary agents) of the Casa de Prisão Provisória de Palmas (Palmas’s Prision) about the health policy directed to the prison worker. An exploratory field research was conducted, based on bibliographical references and qualitative nature. During the field activities, semi-structured interviews were used, where such results were analyzed based on the institutional analytical approach, seeking to understand the phenomenon from the subject's perception and considering its protagonism in the face of a given social context. The sample consisted of 20 employees of the Casa de Prisão Provisória de Palmas who serve as Criminal Enforcement Agent and data collection took place between April and July 2019, after approval by the Ethics Committee and other bodies responsible for the project. From the obtained results it was possible to conclude that the majority of the interviewed servants point to the absence of policies directed to the health of the prison workers within the researched prison unit, emphasizing that when they occur they are decontextualized, sporadic and do not have a continuity. This research, based on listening to prison workers, could bring elements that support actions aimed at prison workers, promoting health education with a preventive character and enabling the reduction of work-related injuries, as well as stimulating the production of knowledge. related to work within the Brazilian prison system.
