Resumo:
This course conclusion paper presents the contributions of Ethnomathematics in the study of jewelery making in the Master Juvenal Goldsmithery in Nativity-TO. Therefore, the application of qualitative research with interview and data collection was performed. The research is divided into two parts: bibliographic research and field research. Being the general objective of the research, to identify the mathematics in the jewelry making process in the Master Juvenal goldsmithery in Natividade-TO. Thus, for a better understanding of the practice performed in goldsmithing was analyzed through bibliographic research; according to D'Ambrósio (2009): Ethnomathematics, being a very broad field of knowledge that involves diverse knowledge and knowledge, is present in the simplest things of our daily lives. It was used texts from Gerdes (2010), Bonfim (2019), Santos (2017), Fernandes (2016), IPHAN (2007) and among others, as extensions and debates for discussions of formalized issues. Also presented was the historical part of Nativity-TO, the gold panning and the making of filigree jewelry. Therefore, it is a case study, involving the qualitative nature of the research; making it evident in its descriptive character and centered on the analysis of the whole process. The data from this work are the result of observations about the mathematical know- how made by the researcher, and were also used photographic archives and recordings of the interview with the goldsmith in order to value the art and native culture.
