Resumo:
The importance of studies whose focus is the reproduction of urban space, is reflected considerably in the quality of life of city dwellers. The literature is full of case studies from large cities. This dissertation in question analyzes the reproduction of urban space in Porto Nacional. Currently, the fifth largest city in the state of Tocantins. Porto Nacional has an estimated population of around 52 thousand inhabitants, and went through an intense moment of urban expansion in the period from 2009 to 2018. And today, it begins to reap fruits related to the immense urban voids provided by the excess production of new lots against demographic growth far below expectations. The following work sought to highlight the situation prior to the period mentioned above. Where the amount of urban voids was already significant. Having as a landmark that highlights this situation, the municipal master plan itself, prepared in 2006. The dissertation had a bibliographical survey on the production of urban space and the central concepts of the research: compaction, urban dispersion. It was sought through satellite images to map the morphological evolution of the city throughout its existence in order to contextualize the production of urban space in Porto Nacional. As well as obtaining general information from the consolidated neighborhoods from the city hall, such as year of implementation, number of lots, to provide an overview of the municipality's headquarters. Through research with the municipal registry, we searched and analyzed the occupancy rate in the city's neighborhoods, trying to present the issue of urban voids that already existed before the launch of the new subdivisions. Information about the new subdivisions was analyzed, such as the number of residential, commercial, mixed, institutional lots, areas intended to be public areas, in order to characterize the land use and configuration of the new subdivisions. Information obtained from the city hall and the companies responsible for the subdivisions. As well as, by means of field survey, and with the aid of satellite images, we sought to characterize the land use and configuration of the new subdivisions.
