Art is an activity intrinsic to man's life, and through it he materializes his
feelings, modifying and building the social environment in which he lives. The
circumstance of the creation of the artwork is the result of a creative power, which
feeds on the energy that arises from the feeling of incompleteness that man has. This
need to create is designed to develop works of art that translate perceptions of reality
in the form of music, dance, theater, visual arts and literature. We realized that direct
contact with the work of art, as well as the possibility of experiencing the production
of a work of art, promote enriching experiences and develop the creative potential of
those involved in this process. Adding knowledge from the aesthetic and necessary
sensitizations for life in society. Therefore, education through creativity influences the
effective performance of man in society, enabling him to increase his problem-solving
capacity. Thus, through the provision of learning from the arts, we perceive the
increase in individual substantive freedoms as a positive mechanism for social
development. This dissertation aims to circumscribe all forms of artistic productions in
the city of Araguaína / TO, which take place in public and private institutions, to
enunciate public projects and policies aimed at artistic events, to list the public
buildings available for artistic events and to meet the artists of the urban
environment. The nature of the research is from a qualitative perspective, where we
performed a descriptive analysis of the documentary data provided by the city, of
data described in the theses and dissertations on Araguaína and of the data obtained
through visits to institutions that develop artistic activities. This time, we verified that
the artistic scenario of Araguaína is focused on musical performances. We
understand that there is still a lack of opportunities for events that contemplate other
forms of art. The city needs a museum, a convention center, free art centers, it needs
to establish other units of the Reciclarte school, it needs to provide means for the
private sector to invest in arts events.
