For this purpose, it starts from the characterization of monuments in their understanding as spatial symbolic forms that represent the human experience in space, as well as bearers of senses and meanings. Signs and location are symbolic forms, which play an important role in space, given their symbolic nature and scalar dimension. Therefore, initially, the study describes the main monuments and monumental buildings in Praça dos Girassóis; analyzes the intentions and meanings of the monuments; highlights their year of implementation/construction, followed by their scalar dimension, their spatial distribution and their creator; as well as identifies the meanings and the multivocality of these symbolic forms fixed in the Square for the future of the city and the state itself. For that, it uses the hermeneutic analysis in the interpretation of the collected data, having as research strategy the field work and a bibliographic review to explain the sources. In summary, two analyzes were carried out that structure the body of the work: a first analysis is based on the political-identity meanings of the monumental buildings and the inscriptions on the institutional floor of Praça dos Girassóis; a second analysis, addresses the political-identity of others monuments in the Square. Thus, it was possible to verify that clearly political, religious, identity and cultural meanings are found in the symbolic forms of the Square, since these were implanted and idealized during the governmental administrations of José Wilson Siqueira Campos, first governor of the state of Tocantins. These idealized monuments reveal, moreover, former governor Siqueira Campos used his political power to produce monuments and buildings that could maintain and legitimize the perpetuation of his associated political group in the state of Tocantins and, mainly, in his capital, producing symbolic forms at Sunflower Square that carry an image demonstration of self-assertion and control. A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo entender os significados e a dimensão política identitária dos monumentos na Praça dos Girassóis em Palmas, TO. Neste intuito, parte-se da caraterização dos monumentos em sua compreensão como formas simbólicas espaciais que representam a vivência da experiência humana no espaço, bem como portadores de sentidos e significados. Signos e localização constituem as formas simbólicas, que assumem um papel importante no espaço, dado à sua natureza simbólica e a dimensão escalar. Inicialmente, portanto, o estudo descreve os principais monumentos e edifícios monumentais da Praça dos Girassóis; analisa as intenções e os sentidos desses monumentos; destaca o ano de implantação/edificação, seguido de sua dimensão escalar, sua distribuição espacial e seu idealizador; bem como identifica os significados e a plurivocalidade dessas formas simbólicas fixadas na Praça para o devir da cidade e do próprio estado. Para tanto, utiliza-se da análise hermenêutica na interpretação dos dados levantados, tendo como estratégia de pesquisa o trabalho em campo e a revisão bibliográfica para explanação das fontes. Sumariamente, foram realizadas duas análises que estruturam o corpo do trabalho: a primeira análise pauta-se nos significados políticos-identitários dos edifícios monumentais e das inscrições no chão institucional da Praça dos Girassóis; já a segunda análise, aborda os significados políticos identitários dos demais monumentos na referida Praça. Desse modo, foi possível verificar que significados de cunhos nitidamente político, religioso, identitário e cultural são encontrados nas formas simbólicas da Praça, uma vez que foram implantadas e idealizadas durante as gestões governamentais de José Wilson Siqueira Campos, primeiro governador do estado do Tocantins. Esses monumentos idealizados revelam, ademais, que o ex-governador utilizou de seu poder político para produzir monumentos e edificações que pudessem manter e legitimar a perpetuação do seu grupo político no estado do Tocantins e, principalmente, em sua capital, produzindo na Praça dos Girassóis formas simbólicas que portam uma demonstração imagética de autoafirmação e controle. 2021-06-18T18:05:22Z 2021-06-18T18:05:22Z 2021-03-10 Dissertação LIMA, Wesley dos Santos.
