The study focused on some of the elements of Africa's history and culture, from the work of Kabengele Munanga. By highlighting important elements of African history and culture in the work of this African author, we sought approximations and distances of these contents with the contents and approaches in the teaching of the Municipal School of Integral Time Antônio Uchôa Viana, in the Municipality of
Miranorte Tocantins. Through a data collection about the history, African and Afro - Brazilian culture in the textbooks of the initial years of elementary school, as well as the lesson plans and the school 's pedagogical political project. Regarding the construction of the identity of the black, the present work demonstrated the importance of working racial ethnic issues from the earliest years of teaching, having as legal framework Laws 10.639 / 03 and 11.645 / 08. The methodology used analyzed the ethnic racial aspects of five first, second and fourth year textbooks of the Antônio Uchôa Viana Municipal School, including the subjects of History, Portuguese Language, Science and Mathematics. As for the images found in the books, there was a majority focused on the image of the white, the approach directed to the African continent remained in the fiction of the information, because it emphasized that the African continent, economically speaking, is considered as the continent more poor in the world, despite having an overabundance in natural, cultural and ethnic riches. Thus, both textbooks and pedagogical actions do not comply with the guidelines of Law 10.639 / 03, which charges from institutions and also from teaching professionals a curricular approach that considers the origin of the community and the student Brazilian population, which, for the most part, are made up of Afro-Brazilians. |
