Cultural manifestations are essential elements in tourism, especially to motivate people in their
displacements within the activity. In the state of Tocantins, in particular in the District of
Canabrava, in the municipality of Arraias, the Festa do Judas takes place, which for more than
a hundred years has been experienced by local residents, and which from its peculiarities and
singularities has been consolidated as an expression of the cultural identity of this people. In
this sense, this work will make an approach to this party, in order to analyze it as an expression
and appreciation of the cultural identity of the place. This work makes a qualitative approach,
from bibliographic and documentary survey and field research. It is believed that the theme is
extremely relevant, because it will contribute to people from other locations knowing how this
event is held, its characters and its importance to the residents of this district, in the search for
strengthening the living memory of the subjects, as well as a form of resistance and value of
people in the community.
