This research presents and broadens the debate on the visualization of the undergraduate student (whether graduation, mastering or doctorate) as a working subject, inserted in the world of work, considering the path taken by him in all his training, under the demands and responsibilities inherent in the process of training / work. It was discussed with the fields such as sociology, psychology, philosophy, economics, communication, political science, psychoanalysis, anthropology, linguistics, work psychodynamics, among others, aiming at preventing the theoretical reductionism of the researched theme. Thus, the objective was to analyze the experiences of pleasure-suffering that master's and doctoral students linked to the Postgraduate Programs in Communication in Brazil have been experiencing, through a social research of qualitative approach and descriptive and exploratory nature, in which a survey was conducted. bibliographic and applied a questionnaire prepared by the author and advisor, via Google forms through e-mail sent to the coordinators of postgraduation courses in Communication in Brazil, which were sent to their students. 185 instruments were received and 176 were valid, following the inclusion and exclusion criteria, composing a non probabilistic sample. Data were analyzed with the help of Excel and through SPSS and content analysis. It was found, regarding the organization of students' work strictu sensu in communication that this does not seem as a direct cause for illness, having factors that can lead to both suffering and pleasure, however the study points to self-collection and negative feelings , especially regarding their own university performance, which cannot be neglected, since there is a risk of becoming pathological and aggravating the risk of suicide. Several sources were pointed, as much of suffering as to reconcile the mastering / doctorate with a paid work, the pressure for the production and financial difficulties; some forms of harassment and violence and ethical suffering; As for pleasure and creative suffering, there is a satisfaction with the university and the postgraduate course; As well as some advantages were presented by the students: development of critical thinking, possibility of going to events / congresses, greater motivation to study, among others. Regarding the destinations given to suffering, students are being able to develop effective strategies to avoid illness, such as seeking medical attention, psychotherapy and other types of therapies, as well as the practice of physical activities to release stress and work overload, as well as strategies for relax, have fun, hang out with friends, and do non-work activities. Thus, it is concluded that the present research achieved the proposed objective and can support the elaboration of projects and actions of health and quality of life at work / study, thus directing the way the stricto sensu university and graduate programs can deal with your students.
