This paper presents a public opinion survey with the population of the city of Araguaína,
aiming to map the degree of knowledge of the themes of nuclear energy and physics
and their applications in science and technology. The objective of this approach is to
verify understanding of the population of the interior of Brazil in face of technological
advances in the nuclear area. It was also possible to compose a database that can be
used as a reference for future work. The work was performed from the data collection
through random qualitative research and statistical analysis. As a general result, there
was a lack of reliable information on the part of the Araguaina population. |
