This research had as objectives to verify if there is use of games in the teaching of Geography and to point out its practical effectiveness for the discipline. This study was carried out through a literature review, between March 2020 and March 2021, through searches in the database of the platforms: Google Acadêmico and Scielo. The following keywords were used: usage, games, teaching, Geography. The words searched should be in the title or abstract of the article so that it was previously selected by the authors. The articles selected were those published between the period 2009 to 2020. The inclusion criteria were: articles in the Portuguese language from the period 2009 to 2020. Twenty articles were found, of which only 11 were available in full online and in the Portuguese language. It was verified that there are a lot of games used in the teaching of Geography, according to the level of elementary and high school in Brazil and that they are always effective. The main types of games in the teaching of Geography found in this research were: 1) geographic dominoes "industrial revolution"; 2) climatic dynamic deck; 3) board game “Brazilian industrialization”; 4) memory game “mineral resources” 5) board game “internal structure of the earth” and 6) puzzle of the regions of Brazil. Os jogos no ensino da geografia contribuem para o processo de ensino e aprendizagem de nível fundamental e médio, estimulam o aprendizado porque pode despertar curiosidades e um esforço de vencer novos desafios. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivos verificar se existe uso de jogos no ensino da Geografia e apontar a sua eficácia prática para a disciplina. Este estudo foi realizado através de uma revisão da literatura, entre março 2020 a março de 2021, através de pesquisas no banco de dados das plataformas: Google Acadêmico e Scielo. Foram utilizadas as seguintes palavras-chave: uso, jogos, ensino, Geografia. As palavras buscadas deveriam estar no título ou resumo do artigo para que o mesmo fosse previamente selecionado pelos autores. Os artigos foram selecionados os publicados entre o período de 2009 a 2020. Os critérios de inclusão foram: artigos na língua portuguesa do período de 2009 a 2020. Foram encontrados 20 artigos, desses apenas 11 estavam disponíveis na integra online e na língua portuguesa. Foi verificado que existem o uso de muito jogos no ensino da Geografia, de acordo com o nível de ensino fundamental e médio no Brasil e que são etremamente eficazes.
