The research aimed to analyze the reach of actions and practices in Science Teaching in the knowledge promotion, values and attitudes in adolescence based on the content of speech of 9th grade students. Therefore it was used a Focus Group as data collection method and the Bardin Content Analysis as an analysis tool. Three categories arose: on the first one, the gender factor is taken as a reference to indicate the self image and self worth variations attributed to themselves; on the second one, the physical self-assessment is related to beauty and ideal body cultural standards, relapsing on values and judgments about themselves, increasing inadequacy feelings for do not correspond the predominant body model expectations; and the third one, signalizes the absence of a safe source at school for decision making. This research concluded that school is not a place of speech for adolescents, because it deals with adolescents issues with impersonality, focusing on puberty biological side and overlooking the psychosocial, emotional and cultural questions that adolescents requires. |
