This paper aims to comprehend the sense and meanings on health for children in an
elementar public school in Tocantinópolis – TO. Considering that Pshisycal Education
involves many other knowledge fields, alongside Healthy and Education, it is relevant
to recognize the subjects point of view and specificities in order to promote
interventions, into and out of the school, more sensible to their realities. In this
perspective, na exploratory research was conducted with two second elementary
classes using graphic techniques produced by 40 (forty) chilren along 6 and 8 years
old and open interview about the graphics. In adiction, the interviews were conducted
with the principal and the teachers of the students to identify healthy approaches on
the school routine. The paper contains a qualitative analisys from the obtained field
information and literature about sociology of childhood. From the productions and
excerpts of the speeches presented, that children articulate the idea of health from 4
(four) categories, namely: “games”, “physical activity practice”, “habits food” and “body
hygiene”. In addition to these classifications, the children indicated that their health
understandings move between reality and fantasy, in which many of the interpretations
are forged in everyday life, encompassing experiences in the family, at school, with the
media and in the environment. |
