Resumo:
This study aims to understand the points of view of a teacher and students from a high school in Tocantinópolis - TO about Physical Education classes. Thus, field work was carried out, with an exploratory nature and a qualitative approach. The theoreticalmethodological contribution used in the production and analysis of data is based on studies with a critical perspective of Physical Education, in order to recognize the languages, narratives and collective productions in the process of construction of knowledge inside and outside the school. Field records were made through semi-structured interviews with a Physical Education 13 third-year students at that school. The initial script of the interviews with both the teacher and the students included three generating questions: the first covering how the research subjects perceived Physical Education classes at school; the second predicting how the participation in these classes occurs and the third highlighting positive and negative aspects of the discipline. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative way, based on the intersection between information obtained in the field and the literature alluding to the theme. It can be concluded, based on the analysis of field records, that students show a certain lack of knowledge about Physical Education, especially what it seeks to show in high school.
