Resumo:
The present study has the following objective: To analyze the territorial dimension of violence, focusing on the analysis of data related to the municipality of Palmas-TO. Its methodology is divided is two steps. The first stage was characterized by the literature review. The second, in turn, was based on the analysis of data on the homicide rate throughout the extension of the Municipality of Palmas, by neighborhoods in the years 2018 and 2019. In the study it was found that . The conceptualization of violence cannot be trivialized and understood solely as physical aggressions or demonstrations of crime, because in a collective divided into classes, violence is materialized in several areas, even through the Public Power and, often, the actions dilated for interference under urban violence, are regulated simply in discourses of punishment and investments in the area of security. In conclusion, it is noted that knowing the dynamics of violent crimes, especially homicide, based on its geographical region. In this context, in the study in committee it was possible to know the regions of the city of Palmas where there is a higher incidence of homicides and where there is the supply or scarcity of public equipment and services and basic urban infrastructure such as basic sanitation and asphalt paving.
