The present work deals with Rural Education. Through it, we tried to carry out a
survey on the profile of a class of students entering the Degree Course in Rural
Education at the Federal University of Tocantins, notably on the campus of Arraias,
in the southeastern region of the state. The intention was to try to understand what
was the profile of the freshman in the course, what led the students to choose the
area, where they came from and what their perspectives of human and social
development are. The work is based on theorists such as: Santos (2017), Sales
(2018), Rodrigues (2009), among others and is divided into three chapters, in
addition to the final considerations. In the first chapter, a small bibliographic survey
was made, discussing part of what was written on the subject. In the second chapter,
the methodology and data collection process were dealt with and in the third chapter,
the data analysis and the presentation of some conclusions were carried out. Data
collection was carried out through a survey and the results were reported with the
support of tables and graphs. It is research linked, at first, to quantitative plans,
especially when it comes to the application of the data collection instrument;
however, the research also has qualitative approaches, especially when analyzing
and interpreting the data obtained. In this second moment, the research aimed at
describing a social phenomenon, in this case, the profile of a class of the Degree in
Rural Education. The investigation was carried out in approximately two academic
semesters, which were divided into eight stages, in 2019. The observation was made
with the students entering the class of 2019 in the course of Rural Education, at the
campus of Arraias of the Federal University of Tocantins. As a result, it was possible
to get to know the students entering the course in a more particular way and obtain
information that can help managers and teachers, supporting practices that promote
a better use of resources and efforts invested in the development of the course. |
