This article aimed to analyze the performance and the main practices carried out by Psychology professionals in rural contexts. For that, the integrative literature review was used as method, with support in the content analysis of Bardin (1977). The survey of the research material was carried out in the online databases Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), portal of Electronic Psychology Journals (PePSIC) and in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) from the crossing of the descriptors "Psychology" AND “Rural”, without time frame. From the data analysis, four categories of analysis were constructed: Performance in public policies: Social Psychology; Working with Groups; and Performance in Research. We conclude that rural contexts emerge as a new field of action for Psychology and that the reported practices point to changes in the way Psychology operates that have occurred in the past decades. |
