One of the most notable impacts during this period of pandemic was on food security, given that news reports point to a variety of problems that affected the population's homogeneous food system. In Brazil, these problems became even more explicit, the causes of social, racial, gender, and economic inequalities, that compromise the Human Right to Food, and thus ends up affecting mainly the lives of the most vulnerable families. In this context, this article aims to address relationships regarding food security by bringing a brief discussion about the importance of school meals and its lack during the pandemic period. For that, we carried out a bibliographic analysis to speculate on the government intervention actions that were developed in the period of the pandemic to combat hunger. From then on, case study research was developed in a school in the central region of the public school system of the city of Porto Nacional -TO. In view of this, the reality of the school community will be exposed to compare with information on the effectiveness of government actions to combat food insecurity. Among some peculiar fragments, situations related to access to income will be highlighted, such as emergency aid, and the authorization of the use of federal resources from the School Feeding Program (PNAE) to purchase food for the families of students who were left without school meals during the period. in which classes were suspended due to social isolation to combat the advance COVID-19. A pandemia de COVID-19 causou o maior desafio do século, trazendo impactonão só no quadro econômico, mas também na saúde e nas condições de vida da população mundial. Um dos maiores impactos mais notável durante esse período de pandemia se deu na segurança alimentar, tendo em vista que noticiários apontam uma diversidade de problemas que afetaram o sistema alimentar homogêneo da população. No Brasil esses problemas ficaram ainda mais explícitos, causas das desigualdades sociais, tanto raciais quanto de gênero e econômicas já existentes que comprometem o Direito Humano à Alimentação (DHAA), e assim acabam afetando principalmente a vida das famílias mais vulneráveis. Nesse contexto este artigo tem como objetivo abordar relações referentes à segurança alimentar trazendo uma breve discussão sobre a importância da alimentação escolar e sua falta no período da pandemia. Para tanto realizamos análise bibliográfica com intuito de especular as ações de intervenção governamental que foram desenvolvidas no período da pandemia para combater a fome. A partir de então, desenvolvemos um estudo de caso em uma escola da região central da rede pública da cidade de Porto Nacional -TO. Diante disto, será exposta a realidade da comunidade escolar para assim comparar com as informações sobre as eficácias das ações governamentais para combater a insegurança alimentar. Dentre alguns fragmentos peculiares serão destacadas situações ligadas ao acesso à renda, como o auxílio emergencial, e à autorização do uso de recursos federais do Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar (PNAE) para aquisição de alimentos destinados para os familiares dos educandos que ficaram sem alimentação escolar no período em que as aulas foram suspensas devido ao isolamento social para combater o avanço da COVID-19. 2022-05-11T17:53:41Z 2022-05-11T17:53:41Z 2022-05-11 Artigo CAVALCANTE, Maria Alcione.
