This paper speaks of memories of seniors who are students of the University of
Maturity (UMA) project of the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT), on the
Araguaína campus. Our goal was to analyze the memories of these students
referring to the period they studied in basic education. Thus, we seek to treat
memories of the time of schooling, from the impressions brought in the present, when
they return, already elderly, to the school benches. Initially, we bring data about the
situation of the elderly in Brazil and about the actions of UMA in Araguaína. We then
discuss memory in order to finally analyze participants' statements. The research
involved semi-structured interviews with three seniors (two women and one man),
being held in September 2019, on the campus itself. To analyze these data, the
discursive semiotics was mobilized. |
