We opted for a qualitative approach with bibliographic and documentary research. The results indicate that there is attention to progress in education policies implemented in the Public Education Network of the municipality in question, among them policies for the inclusion of people with disabilities, multidisciplinary team and continuing education for school staff, the municipality has also implemented several programs in the federal government, among them the Health and Prevention in Schools Project and the Happy Child Program, has created and expanded early childhood education in the villages, as is the case of the São José and Mariazinha villages. However, in general, policies of a welfare nature and not focused on early childhood education. We found that there is no public policy related to racial issues even though most of the pollution in Tocantinópolis is black and brown. In addition, it is observed that in the Municipal Education Plan, for example, the words black and poor do not appear, especially in Mata 1. O presentar artigo discute sobre Desafios e Perspectivas Políticas Públicas para Educação Infantil na cidade de Tocantinópolis – TO e o enfrentamento das desigualdades sociais e raciais e que tem como objetivo analisar quais políticas e programas educacionais implementados no referido município estão direcionadas ao acesso e a permanência das crianças de 0 a 6 anos de idade tendo em vista a diminuição da desigualdade social e racial. Optamos por uma abordagem de natureza qualitativa com pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. Os resultados apontam que existem uma atenção a avanço nas políticas da educação implementada na Rede Púbica de Ensino do município em questão, dentre elas políticas de inclusão de pessoas com deficiência, equipe multidisciplinares e formação continuada para equipe escolar, o município também tem implementado diversos programas no governo federal, dentre eles o Projeto Saúde e Prevenção nas Escolas e o Programa Criança Feliz, tem criado ampliado a educação infantil nas aldeias, como é o caso da aldeia São José e Mariazinha. Porém, em geral políticas de natureza assistencialista e não com foco na educação infantil. Constatamos que não há nenhuma política pública relacionada a questão racial mesmo que a maioria da polução de Tocantinópolis são negros e pardos.
