This paper aims to reflect on the social representations of women in the Alto Bonito
neighborhood and the narratives of resistance developed in that territory. Seeking to
understand how this process of struggle for her emancipation as a working woman.
However, as we know, and as has already been discussed at other times, we know that
historically women have always been targets of prejudice. His narratives about life stories,
struggles and resistances make it possible to know how the social representations of this
social group occur. The methodology used was: semi-structured interviews with Life
Stories, elaboration of a social map by the women of Bairro Alto Bonito, who respectively
participated in the interviews. The result pointed out that the women of Bairro Alto Bonito
raise their children, suffer violence in various ways, did not finish their studies because
they have to take care of the house, the husbands and especially of their children. But
above all, they are women who struggle and resist daily to emancipate themselves.
