This study was based on the following research problem: How have 8th grade primary school teachers at Beija-Flor State College been related to new technologies in the teaching-learning process? This research was developed from a literature review focusing on authors who talk about the use of new technologies in teaching, some of them: Peixoto et al (2009), Kenski (2003 and 2007), Papert (1994), Thoaldo (2010). ) and Nunes (2009). It was also developed an empirical research conducted in a state college in the city of Araguaína-TO, which we call the fictitious name Beija-Flor State College, for data collection we applied two questionnaires, one with students of the 8th grade of elementary school, and another with the teachers of the same class. Based on the results obtained, it was found that although the importance of teachers using the new information and communication technologies in the teaching-learning process is discussed, there are several factors so that they have not achieved this goal, because there is still a lack of training and In this area, as existing programs have not yet been able to address these needs, there is a lack of adequate physical structure and technological resources in schools, so long as these issues are not resolved, it is impossible for them to use such tools. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar como os professores do 8º ano do ensino fundamental, do Colégio Estadual Beija-Flor, em Araguaína-TO, vêm utilizando as novas tecnologias no desenvolvimento de sua prática de ensino. A realização deste estudo, se deu a partir do seguinte problema de pesquisa: Como os professores do 8º ano do ensino fundamental do Colégio Estadual Beija-Flor têm se relacionado com as novas tecnologias no processo ensino aprendizagem? Esta pesquisa foi desenvolvida a partir de revisão bibliográfica com foco em autores que falam sobre o uso das novas tecnologias no ensino, sendo alguns deles: Peixoto et al (2009), Kenski (2003 e 2007), Papert (1994), Thoaldo (2010) e Nunes (2009). Foi também desenvolvida uma pesquisa empírica realizada em um colégio Estadual no município de Araguaína-TO, ao qual atribuímos o nome fictício de Colégio Estadual Beija-Flor, para coleta de dados aplicamos dois questionários, um com os alunos do 8º ano do ensino fundamental, e outro com os docentes dessa mesma turma. Com base nos resultados obtidos, verificou-se que embora se discuta a importância de os professores utilizarem as novas tecnologias de informação e comunicação no processo de ensino aprendizagem, existem diversos fatores para que os mesmos não tenham alcançado esse objetivo, pois ainda faltam formações e capacitações nessa área, já que os programas existentes ainda não conseguiram sanar essas necessidades. Além disso, há carência de estrutura física adequada e recursos tecnológicos nas escolas.
