Resumo:
This scientific study aims to identify the difficulties faced by quilombola students during the graduation process at the Federal University of Tocantins Campus of Arraias, since the prejudice against black people can be expressed in different ways, even in the face of academic/scientific spaces hindering access and permanence of these students, in which, most students of this college are black people and that a small part belongs to quilombola communities in the region. This study has a qualitative characteristic, in which the methodologies used were bibliographical research, documentary and field research, observation, interviews/questionnaires with open and closed questions. And for the theoretical foundation there was the dialogue between authors such as Furtado (2013), Valadão (2018), Sousa; Santos (2018), and among other authors. Thus, this paper presents the public and affirmative policies that have emerged over the years, which only came to happen belatedly, after the manifestations of the black movement in the country, since, today, remaining students from quilombola communities have the right to access and permanence in higher education.
