It seeks to show whether the proposals presented in the material have the potential to contribute to the critical formation of the student, what the book's contribution is and how critical literacy activities are carried out in the selected unit. This article is characterized as a qualitative approach and follows the interpretivist paradigm, it is exploratory research. To obtain the data, the activities were analyzed from the perspective of critical literacy. Looking to analyze the sections of the textbook unit and to which they correspond. In addition, it explores how the unit's contents are organized and describes the objectives of each section. In conclusion, the importance of the subjects contained in the unit for discussions that aims to contribute to the individual or social development of the student was addressed. Furthermore, the results of the analyzes that the Alive High textbook favors the teacher and student in teaching/learning relating it to critical literacy. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar o livro didático Alive High, do 3° ano do Ensino Médio, sob o ponto de vista do letramento crítico. Busca mostrar se as propostas apresentadas no material têm o potencial de contribuir para a formação crítica do aluno, qual a contribuição do livro e como se dão as atividades de letramento crítico na unidade selecionada. Esse artigo caracteriza-se como abordagem qualitativa e segue o paradigma interpretativista, trata-se de uma pesquisa de caráter exploratório. Para obtenção dos dados, as atividades de uma unidade didática foram analisadas sob perspectivas do letramento crítico. Procurou-se analisar as seções da unidade do livro didático e em que correspondem cada uma delas. Além disso, consiste em explorar como os conteúdos da unidade são organizados e descreve os objetivos de cada seção. Em conclusão, foi abordado a importância dos assuntos contidos na unidade para discussões que visa contribuir para o desenvolvimento individual ou social do aluno.
