The aim was to arouse the interest of students and encourage them to “conjecture” the mathematical properties of the contents of Triangles and Area of Notable Quadrilaterals, through their previous knowledge, preventing students from just memorizing resolution formulas. The empirical development was organized in two stages: in the first, we carried out activities on the triangles and, later, a Workshop with handling A4 paper, to find the area of the quadrilaterals. The proposal was applied to students of the 7th year of Elementary School of a State School of Araguaína in 2019. In view of the results obtained in the research, we found that classes using concrete material, when well planned, contribute to the learning of the content of Mathematics , arousing students' interest in activities and we verify that this practice is not present in mathematics classes of these classes. In addition, we consider that this experience was of great enrichment for the training of the researcher. O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de apresentar uma proposta de ensino de Geometria utilizando o material concreto em duas turmas dos Anos Finais do Ensino Fundamental, baseada na investigação e manipulação de materiais para o desenvolvimento das atividades. Almejou-se despertar o interesse dos alunos e instigá-los a “conjecturar” propriedades matemáticas dos conteúdos de Triângulos e Área dos Quadriláteros Notáveis, por meio de seus conhecimentos prévios, evitando que os estudantes apenas memorizem fórmulas de resolução. O desenvolvimento empírico foi organizado em duas etapas: na primeira realizamos atividades sobre os triângulos e, posteriormente, uma Oficina com manipulação de papel A4, para encontrar a área dos quadriláteros. A proposta foi aplicada aos alunos do 7° ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma Escola Estadual de Araguaína no ano de 2019. Diante dos resultados obtidos na pesquisa, constatamos que aulas utilizando material concreto, quando bem planejadas, contribuem para a aprendizagem do conteúdo de Matemática despertando o interesse dos alunos pelas atividade e verificamos que essa prática não está presente em aulas de Matemática dessas turmas.
