Thus, we elaborated a proposal to insert the History of Mathematics into the content of Geometry, taking into account some aspects of the geometry involved within the history of mathematics, seeking to encourage mathematics teachers to add new methods to teach this content in basic education. Therefore, we divided the work into two stages: the first consists of a theoretical survey that enabled us to better understand the historical concepts about the History of Mathematics and Geometry, as well as the study of official documents that deal with the teaching of geometry based on some authors. In the second stage, we present as a teacher proposal, where the History of Mathematics was inserted into the contents studied. Finally, as a result of this study, we realized that the use of the History of Mathematics as a methodological tool enables significant learning Apresentamos neste trabalho um estudo fundamentado em uma pesquisa bibliográfica, tendo como ponto de partida a seguinte questão norteadora: como inserir a história da Matemática no ensino de Geometria. Assim elaboramos uma proposta de inserção da História da Matemática no conteúdo de Geometria, levando em consideração alguns aspectos da geometria envolvida dentro da história da matemática, buscando incentivar os professores de matemática a acrescentar novos métodos para ensinar esse conteúdo na educação básica. Para tanto, dividimos o trabalho em duas etapas: a primeira consiste no levantamento teórico que nos possibilitou uma melhor compreensão dos conceitos históricos sobre a História da Matemática e da Geometria, bem como o estudo de documentos oficiais que tratam do ensino de geometria embasados em alguns autores. Na segunda etapa, apresentamos uma proposta de ensino, onde foram inseridos dentro dos conteúdos estudados, a História da Matemática.
