In addition to discussing the difficulties that black women face in society, addressing questions about gender and color prejudice, also addressing the historical process of black women in search of respect, acceptance and appreciation, as well as talk about cinema in education as a teaching-learning tool and generating cultural and historical information. This research is bibliographical and analyzes cinematographic works. The objects of the cinematographic analyzes of this work will be the films The color Purple and Precious. The results of this research shows us that the woman fought and still struggles to gain personal independence and respect in a still very sexist society. Esta monografia, apresentada ao curso de Licenciatura em Letras com habilitação em Língua Portuguesa e suas respectivas literaturas, tem por objetivo, pesquisar representações da mulher negra pela via do cinema. Além de discutir as dificuldades que as mulheres negras enfrentam na sociedade, abordar questões sobre o preconceito de gênero e cor, abordar, também, sobre o processo histórico da mulher negra em busca de respeito, aceitação e valorização, bem como falar sobre cinema na educação enquanto ferramenta de ensino-aprendizagem e geradora de informações culturais e históricas. Esta pesquisa é de cunho bibliográfico e analisa obras cinematográficas. Os objetos das análises cinematográficas deste trabalho serão os filmes A cor Púrpura e Preciosa1 .
