This paper seeks to address the occurrence of racism and discrimination against black
students, in the State College Adolfo Bezerra de Menezes from Araguaina-TO, based on the
experiences and actions taken by the PIBID/Geography, in the years 2016 and 2017. It has as
aim to analyze how the racial discrimination interferes in the relations within the school,
investigating how the production and reproduction of such discrimination among students and
between them and the teachers.The methodology employed was quantitative and qualitative,
effective through bibliographical analysis, document analysis, field observations, interviews
and questionnaires. The survey results tell us that racism still persists in the school
environment, perceived by the practices performed daily byteachers and students. In urging
that way thinking on the importance of making the school an environment of dialogue and
discussion about the ethnic and racial diversity and ethno-racial plurality existing in our
country, to be free from any discrimination or intolerance.
