The present research aims to describe the traditional knowledge present in the cultivation of
cassava and flour production. The study was carried out in the Prata community (Monte
Alegre de Goiás – Brazil). The theoretical foundation is Rural Education and Ethnosciences in
dialogue with the traditional knowledge of farmers in the investigated territory. he
methodology is qualitative. The approach is ethnography (experience and investigation by the
researcher in his/her community). Research data were collected through observations,
interviews and photographic records. We observed that traditional knowledge integrates the
local culture and is fundamental for the maintenance of life. For example, the cultivation and
production of food that sustains rural families. |
