This study aimed to make a theoretical study of Algebraic Equations content and
analyze the approaches given in teaching and learning in high school. Therefore, a
study was conducted of the documents National Curriculum Parameters for
Secondary Education (PCN-MS), Law of Directives and Bases (LDB) and the
National Textbook Program (PNLD) to ascertain the skills and abilities that these
documents provide for the high school students about the addressed content. A
qualitative research was also done in two state schools in Araguaína-TO, which was
presented a questionnaire to teachers of mathematics in order to gather information
about the teaching strategies, teaching resources used and how has been working
this content in room class. The textbooks adopted by the aforementioned schools
were also analyzed with the intention of knowing the approaches given to the
teaching of this content. Based on the analysis of official documents and answers to
the questionnaires directed to teachers, the work brings a discussion and reflections
on the teaching of Algebraic Equations, to contribute to a satisfactory learning. |
