Higher education has functioned throughout history as an instrument of social
transformation. This level of education has been building diverse professionals and
modifying socio-cultural structures. However, it is necessary to provide people with a quality
degree, through a committed institution that provides both academic training and the
engagement of future professionals in the job market. Within this context, the importance of
this work arises, responding to a very recurring problem - the incompatibility of the course
with the profile of the students. The present study intends, above all, to outline the profileof
the students of the Cooperative Management course and to highlight the perspectives of these
students in relation to their academic formation. The research developed is characterized as
being of a qualitative nature, it is a case study carried out with 33 graduates of the Cooperative
Management course, which took place at UFT - Campus de Araguaína, in the period of
October 2019. The collection of data occurred with questionnaires and the analysis of
responses was based on the content analysis method. Based on the information, we can show
that the sample has a greater female presence (76.7%). Regarding the age group of students,
it is noted that he is relatively young (79%). It is important to say that 27.27% of the students
live in municipalities neighboring Araguaína - TO. Some need to travel distances close to
100 km to study. About working and studying 42.2% of those surveyed only study, 42.4%
study and work, 12% have some scholarship provided by UFT (Coordination for the
Improvement of Higher Education Personnel - CAPEs, or; National Council for Scientific
and Technological Development - CNPq, or; Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation
Scholarships - PIBID, or; Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation Scholarships - PIBIC,
or; Academic Permanence Scholarship) and 3% are unemployed. The students also reported
the need to have an internship in the course. Thus, through research it was possible to
determine the profile of the respondents, their perspectives after graduation, their opinions
about the course and what should be changed to achieve excellence in teaching. We noticed
that a considerable number of students identify with the course and know its importance for
the development of the Araguaína region. |
